i have a 1982 gpz750r1 that the old owner took the turn signals off. i want to put turn signals back on but 1 have a problem. the idiot cut the rear tabs off so i have no way to mount them to the bike. the brake light has 2 bulbs. is there any way i can wire my turn signal wires from the harness into the brake light so i can use it as brake lights and turn signals? thanks

Yes, of course!
I know someone will pop in a diagram for it here shortly, but for now you can just look under the KZ Information tab at the top of the page, then the filebase tab that comes up. Look up your bike and there is a wiring diagram there for ya to check out, and get an idea.
Good luck.

Can a local welder fabricate some mounts for your missing turn signals? I'd think that would be the easier way to go rather than splicing wires.

i was thinking about that also, bit i would have to have the tri-angle cut out to get the light to fit.

Possibly a machine shop with a stamping press could make the cutouts. Or a CNC shop could cut some for you out of steel. Bring along the signals for measurements.
Another thought would be to locate the rear brake light and turn signal assembly from a 1981/1982 GPz1100/Kz1100 as the triangle cutouts are part of the rear brake light/turn signal mount.
www.oldkawman.com might have what you need or www.oldkaw.com might too.

That's a good idea, as the rear turn signals are are single filiment bulb. A little creative wiring should have your problem solved.
Some aluminum angles bolted to the license plate will give your signals a place to mount.

Same idea using chrome strap formed bracket with oem turn signals (with non-stock posts) on 1976 KZ900-B1 LTD.
The formed strap bracket fits under the license tag, all the way across, between the tag and tag mount, with ends bent 90° for fitting the signals.
Rear mounted signals don't interfere with fitment of soft over-the-seat saddle bags.
The formed bracket sturdily mounted in this fashion also provides handy bungee cord anchor sites.
Good Fortune!
