Speedo cable was created by paddlerbob
Just picked up a project GPZ 550. After tearing it down and degreasing I noticed no speedo cable. I cant find where it connects to the transmission. I would think somewhere near the drive sprocket? Looking for a hint on where to look. My manual tells nothing.

Looks like you need a factory shop manual. You may be able to find a free download on the 'net. Even if you have to buy, it will save many times its cost.

The speedo drive unit should be located on the left side of the front wheel - the left side as you are sitting on the bike - the same side as the speedo, clutch lever, & shifter pedal.

Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc.
Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.
