ok i've tried cleaning the connections,tested ic igniter,pickup coils,ignition coils,spark plug wires the engine turns over ,lights work...but no spark to the plugs this is a 1991 kz1000p..i'm at a loss for next procedure...any ideas? all would be welcome thanks mfolks for your last input...any more? :huh:

Have you checked the kill switch on the hand controls? Is there a kill switch on the side stand? If so, is it functioning properly? When you checked the components listed in the post above, did you get more than 12v dc at the coils when the ignition switch is on? Have you checked the secondary coil wires for internal breakage?

Ooops. I see you did check the secondary wires.

It's critical that battery voltage is supplied to the primary terminal on each coil when the ignition switch is ON.
Absent such voltage to primary terminal, the coil can't function to produce spark.
If such voltage isn't present, there's certain stuff to check.
If such voltage is present, there's other stuff to check.
