Voltage Regulator Smoking

I shut the bike off and unplugged the regulator. There was a bunch of corrosion in there and one of the terminals on the regulator came off in the plug.
I scraped the corrosion out and pulled the broken terminal tab out of the connector plug. Plugged the regulator back in and made it home OK. Turn signals started slowing way down by the time I got home though.
A new regulator looks like its about $140+shipping. I'm trying to ressurect this bike but it is turning into a money pit.
I don't see any compatible regulators on ebay. The bike is an 88 KZ305. I'll post a wanted ad in the classifieds.
Not sure what I'm looking for here, I guess I'm just venting. I'm not attempting to completely restore this bike, just make it road worthy again. It's costing more than the bike is probably worth though.

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KAWASAKI-EX305-E...fPartsQ5fAccessories
does it look like this one?
According to Kawasaki.com that's the correct one for an '88 KZ305; part number 21066-1039. The seller has 2 of them at $24 each. Not too bad. Ed

CheapCycleParts.com lists the 87-88 KZ305 LTD and the 99-01 KMX 125 as all using the same rectifier.
They only go back to '84. So it doesn't list whether or not the '83 parts are interchangable.
Is there a better source for looking this up somewhere online?

Yes it looks a lot like that! That's for an '83 and I can find a few for that year on ebay, but I wasn't sure it's the right part.

YES. Go to Kawasaki.com, move cursor to"Owner Info" on left side, then "Parts Diagrams" then yea , model, etc. It's easy to follow. Ed

Thanks! That's great. cheapcycleparts.com is a lot easier to use, but not as comprehensive. I was really glad to see once I found the part on kawasaki.com that when I clicked the link for the part, there's a little yellow question mark like a help icon that will list all the models and years that share that part. That's exactly what I needed!
