guys, I got 5 paypal bucks for the first to post left, right, top and front pics of a battery box installed on a 77-78 KZ1000 with the harness and elecric gadgets hooked up. I need some reference points as I bought my project literially in baskets and boxes.

thats easy.... google images.... for kz 1000 and play with the searches wording to drum up more photos...for sure you will see the connect points...also lay the battery box into the frame cavity under the seat if not already done and it will kinda line up with bolt holes and mounts....then the harness is almost a stretch and match from the front to the back...you will be re routing and crunching /winding it any ways as you add coils and tank and side covers stuff to the frame areas so dont go zip tying it into place untill your all done and have key and lights and it runs...then do a final sano job and loosely zip tie it in a few spots...do you have pics?????of the bike as it sits now..its easier for folks to describe the next move if they can see close ups of how your progress is sitting at present...google images 100% sure will have pics of folks bikes with the body work and seats off...the first and kinda hard part really is routing the handle bars controls and key and instrument connectores into the back of the head light and under the speedo ect..and then feeding in the right end of the harness snake..once that stuff is all in there it starts to make more sense and plug ends match...keep matching stuff and you will get it all together inside the headlight buckett ...test fit the actual light back into the bucket and you will see that things need tucking and condensing to plug the light to the last unused connections.....and this proccess also dicates how much snake is left after the inner light is all match to the running gear plugs and harness end to stretch and wind back the battery and left side cover ares and then on towards the taillight and rear signals.......pics of your bike compared to the ones you find on google will help most stuff only matches its right connector and a lot is color codded...it gets easy as you go....final routing is the trick part.....peace

thanks guys, that'll help. I just needed some reference points, I just ordered the repo harness and bar switches for the project. it's challenging rebuilding something you didn't take apart. thanks again.

To keep my bike's electrical switches and connectors in good shape, I use a brand of electrical contact cleaner/preservative called "De-Oxit" it's a bit pricey from Radio Shack or other electronic supply places but good stuff.


www.deoxit.com is their website, I use it on our cordless phone charging cradles, and entertainment center patch cords.
