82 kz550 ltd wants a new horn

can i upgrade to a bigger horn without screwing with the battery? Is there anything special I have to do?

Use a 12V auto relay when you wire it up. Use the wire that goes to the horn now to supply the trigger voltage to the relay. The relay then carries voltage directly from the battery to the new horn. This will save your original wire harness and switch from being burned up by the higher current the new horn will probably take.
