I bought that set of Denso plugs on E-bay. Looking forward to trying them out.

If you are running stock coils than gap them at .030-.035" If you are using aftermarket coils, such as Dyna, than gap them between .045"-.060" I run mine at .060" with Dyna gray 2.2 Ohm coils. Once I install the MSD box i will open them to .080". Use this link as a guide.

That brings up another question (coils). I am trying to figure out what works with my bike. It has a Dyna S ignition and stock coils. I believe the Dyna green coils will work with it, right?

And I have read about removing the resistor. Where is the resistor located?

Thanks

Here's the obscure pic from FSM, but shows general location, and the text notes colors of wires involved (i.e., red and pink).

Good Fortune! :)

Yes, green coils 3 Ohm with the Dyna-S and remove (By-pass/ jump) the resistor IF you have one on your bike. Not all bikes had ballast resistors.

Funny how everyone's got their own pet methods, including myself.

I hated Champion spark plugs until I proved to myself that they definitely worked better than NGK in 2 stroke motors.

Better idle, quicker throttle response.... difference you could feel and measure the idle increase with digital tach.

I ran both ND and NGK plugs in Kawasaki's. We had brand new Kawsaki's come in with ND plugs one year.

I have ND's in my bike a the moment too, gapped at .028" with stock CDI ignition system. Could have gone Dyna, no thank you very much.

Ran a lot of Bosh and Autolite in my cars. What do you care in your car except it starts, get's as good a mileage as it can and you don't think about the spark plugs for at least 70,000 miles.

Here's Greg Copes spark plug tips.

Spark Plug Gaps
When running a Suzuki or Kawasaki with a Dyna-S and high performance coils set plug gap at .026. When running an MSD or Dyna-4000 Ignition system set plug gap at .018.

Spark Plugs
Racing motors usually require a heat range one colder than stock. We recommend NGK plugs. For a Suzuki GS1100-1150 use a D9EA. For a Kawasaki KZ 900-1000 use a B9ES. With a Dyna-S ignition and aftermarket coils run a gap of .028. If your vehicle has a MSD box or Dyna 4000 ignition run a plug gap of .018 - .020.

I'll bet you $50 that if anyone was given a KZ to ride with the spark plug label covered, they could not ride the bike 10 miles, then tell you if it had Champ, NGK, ND or Bosh plugs in it... ;)

Take those same plugs. Put 1500 miles on them, and than do a side by side comparison, and I bet you could tell the difference. B) ;)

Screw you Plum....

I wanted to try the NGK B8EV but hard to find.... Can special order but screw that.... ~ $5 each no big deal....

Then I found some info they're discontinuing.... Ah well, B8ES have been working just fine.... @ $2.50 each, hell throw them away every 3-6 months pending how many miles you put on them....

Cheap insurance.... ;)

Maybe put in one of each and see who guesses what.
