82 KZ750 H3 battery sensor ?

I picked up a 1982 KZ750 H3 . This bike was torn a part and some parts where lost . I have a shop manual that states it should have a battery sensor . I looked and there are plugs for one but since the battery is gone so is the sensor . Will this be a problem ? I am looking to get this back together and on the road some day . This thing does have a fried wire that I have to find out what it is for and replace it .

The bike's with the battery sensor used a special Yuasa battery that connected to the electrical harness.

I believe Yuasa has phased out these batteries now. Many owners have connected the sensor wire to a 12 volt source to eliminate the flashing light in the instrument dash.

I thought about this on my 1982 GPz1100 B2 model, but decided to use a 9 volt battery holder that has an on-off switch. The Negative lead is connnected to the bike's ground(anywhere on the frame)and the Positive lead goes to the battery sensor conection.

I started to do a tear down on this bike and noticed that there was 2 connectors right behind the battery box and started to look at the manual and found out what they where for but it was not clear on it . As long as it will not affect the starting on this thing I will not worry about it for now .

Wow, I've owned my KZ750-H3 for several years and don't remember seeing anything about a battery sensor. I've used a regular motorcycle battery with mine since I got it and it hasn't been a problem. There are two connectors behind the battery I believe they are accessory connectors...blue I think.

Some of the bikes had fuses and wiring for aux heated clothing. If your bike had a battery sensor LED, you'd find it very bothering, as the red LED in the instruments would flash each second along with a notification in the LCD panel about a battery problem.

Mine on one side is a ground ( Black with a yellow stripe ) and the other wire is white with a blue stripe . Both has a clear boot on them . Like I said the manual was not clear on what they are . To be honest  this thing has so many sensors on it when I seen that some had the battery sensor I thought that was it . Thanks for helping .
