Hard to say very hard to start, very poor idle, run out of battery if you get it to start, symtoms dont stay the same, got typical answers of change jetting, etc.

I would go threw the weiring harness and clean all the connectors. Clean the ignition switch and the kill switch. What bike are talking about? It would help to know.

Minimum wiring....
You can actually bypass the ignition switch and On/Off Kill switch if you want through a 20 amp SPST switch and in line fuse if you want to get even further bare bone.....

Possibly your Dyna is whacked/shorting....

Get to minimum wiring and go through electrical measurements and testing.....

Had brand new dyna on shelf install resulted in same results what is really strange is when you turn run switch to run with meter connected to battery voltage drop looks like a gas pump in reverse.

Your Dyna should consume about 6.5A I have a feeling that there is a short somewhere or something is hooked up wrong. i know that the Dyna hook up is not rocket science, but things do happen. I have a Dyna on my 76 and with a quartz bulb in the headlight the charging system is about peaked out. The charging system is only about 12A The Headlight and Dyna draw about 10A.

Not trying to insult where you're 100% positive the Dyna was wired correctly?

Also... One member recently had a partial shorting of the Dyna coil +12Vdc on the coil mounts to frame... May want to check that as well...

Just in case...
