Relocating blinkers on a 1980 750 LTD

Hi everyone,

I just picked up one of those transluscent rooster? fairings from a buddy. I think its a ss-28 or something?

Anyway, I am thinking of putting it on my '80 750 LTD (he had it on his ZN700). It's kind of ...well...unique looking, but figured it might be nice on my long trips to work. Problem is my blinkers are mounted on my handlebars, not the headlight bracket. I made the move on my 550, but the bracket of my 750 is a wire type whereas the 550 was a solid piece of metal...

Any suggestions on how to move these?

Maybe replace the two bolts that hold the headlight shell with turn signal stalks?

Yes, that's what I did. It seemed fairly easy to me. I used everything from the turn signals except the handlebar brackets. I cut off the tiny ring connectors from the ground wires & installed 10mm rings in their place to fit over the stems. The stems are 10mm - same as the headlight bolts & I reused the stuff from the headlight except for the big bolt.

Here's a topic w stem options - Z1Enterprises.com sells a couple of styles....
turn signal stem? .
The Honda stems or KZ440s probably give the best installation.
I got the aftermarket type w the metal diamond flange, which kinda looks wrong.

perfect. I was thinking of how to use the stems, but my rear stems have those plastic insulator/bushing things on them (they are kind of diamond/traingular shaped). I do remember my dad had a 1980 440 with blinkers on the headlight.

Crazy I can remember that... I was 6 when he sold it. My love for Kawasaki's must have started early :)

I installed dogbones on my 82 1000 LTD so the wires didn't reach anymore. I removed the reflectors on the side of the headlight brackets and with a little reaming on the exsisting holes the handlebar mounts worked great (one piece on the inside and one on the outside)
1982 KZ1000 LTD K2. Resurrected, not restored :)
