Coil? was created by ssschultz
Okay so I figured out what this bike is. I got a key for it but to get it to run I think that I still need a coil. Is that what this is? I really don't know a whole lot about motorcycles but I'm trying to teach myself as I have been riding since I was 16. I'm sure I will have lots of stupid questions.

This is the part that is broken. I went to pull the cover off the spark plug and the cable just fell apart. Can I use another kind of coil or do I have to get one of these?

Yes it was the cap that pulled off the wire. That is just what the wire went up into.

Snip off about 1/4" of the end of the wire and SCREW the cap back on.

if the cap just came off not a big problem cut the cable back about a 1/4" or so and just thread it back onto the fresh end of the cable these caps have a threaded point up inside the end of it for just this very reason and if you want to change the cap sometime just unscrew it.
