Ignition switch kz900 was created by nads.com
Is got a knew switch and it has 6 wires. I think the old one had four. Is there any difference between the to? It's been over 10 years since I took the old one out and I think it had only four wires.:blink:

Kawasaki evolved the design of the switch as production switched from the 900's to the 1000's. The 6-pin switched work with the older 4-pin harnesses and the newer 6-pin harnesses.

only when you get to 1980 are there issues as Kawasaki implemented an additional brown wire coming out of the switch on 650 and 1000 models. On those models some wiring adaptation is needed.

Nads...

Just went through this myself... Plug & Play... The KZ900 harness (4 conductor) keyed plugs into the ignition switch 6 conductor connector.

Ignition switch conductors 5 & 6 are not used in the 900. Conductors 1-4 are the same color code as the KZ900 harness conductor colors... ;)
