finally getting this thing dialed in. Checking timing as per the factory manual, my ohm meter is digital. is not reacting when points begin to open, I know the meter function but I need a little advice. I see the points opening ...

think I got it but I seem to remember doing slightly differently, with a light, no not strobe light ...

I suggest you may want to get a timing light (be sure to get one with an inductive pickup clamp) and a dwell meter. You should be able to find good quality units on eBay at a reasonable price. They will make adjusting the points very easy. Ed

I have one of those, I seem to remember doing a static timing with a simple continuity light
