Hi guys,

I think I have wht I need, but can someone verify that I have the right stuff before I start ordering anything?

I want to go with the DYNA-S Ignition. So here's what I'm thinking on getting.

I have a 77 KZ650 B1.

The list:

- Dyna-S Electronic Ignition DS2-2

- Dyna Dual Output 3.0 Ohm Coils (pair) DC1-1

- Plug Wires ( I'm not sure which ones I need here?? )

Wire Choices:
- Dyna Ignition Wires - 7mm copper core (black)
- Dyna Ignition Wires - 7mm copper core (red)
- Dyna Ignition Wires - 7mm Suppression Core (Black)
- Dyna Ignition Wires - 8mm suppression core (grey)

^^^^
So which ones?

I there anything else I should order? Am I missing anything? And how hard is it to swap out this stuff? Any pointers?

Thanks again all!

MB

MB, All very straight forward to swap out, no major skill set required other than IQ north of 114. I use 8.8mm Accel plug wires on mine and they seem to work just fine.

Suggest you SERIOUSLY consider doing the WG Coils wire mod immediately you have completed the swap to the Dyna.

I'm running copper core 8mm wire with 5K resistor boots with old Dyna on the kz1000A1, Running 7mm copper core with 5k resistor boots on GS1000GT which is CDI. I think it was something like $12 or $16 for four plug boots at the bike shop. Back when I was a kid the resistor wire had a bad rep for being fragile. 35-40 years later, it's probably just fine.

Hi Barneyhyphen,

What exactly is the WG coils mod? Is this something separate that I need/should do, from what I've listed above?

And I don't have anything swapped out yet. I'm waiting until I know EXACTLY what I need to get so I can order it all at once and have it all ready to install. - I hate starting an install on something, then finding out I'm missign something. :pinch:

Hi Matt - the modification Barney referred to is located in the filebase. First click on sitemap, then filebase, and then near the top of the list, powering coils directly from the battery. Best of luck to you:)
