Should there be continuity between the black ground wire and the white wire, on stock rectifier, when I ohm it?

If the white wire is the positive output wire, there should be a little bit of continuity if the red meter lead is on the black wire. But none the other way.

I put the red meter lead on the white wire and the black meter lead on the black wire it SHOWS continuity. BUT when I put the red meter lead on the black wire and the black meter lead on the white wire there's NO continuity. Does this mean I have a bad rectifier?

Have u tested ur regulator? On the 77 u have a seperate reg/rec right? On mine, the regulator went bad and though its rare, it made my rectifier go bad. I for one would can both of those if u have a few bucks and go to Oregonmotorcycleparts.com They make great replacements for ur bike and mine even charges at 13.5V at idle. It has an adjustment screw to lower or raise the volts as to not overcharge ur battery. They are amazing and VERY low cost.
