Don't get frustrated, it may be very simple. I have an 82 CSR 1000 and the most problems I've had relate to corroded fuse holders. Disconnect the battery ground, pull the fuses (make note of which size goes where) and use some rolled up emery cloth in the shape/size of the fuse, put it in the fuse holder and push it back and forth to polish the inside surfaces of the fuse clips. Then lightly polish the fuse ends. Look at the fuse elements to determine if they look good or better yet use an ohmeter to see they are ohms. If you have some silicone automotive grease coat the fuse holders lightly and replace the fuses. This won't take more than 30 minutes to try.
Good luck!

Harley's also started the group riding in staggered lane positions while in herds to avoid wrecking in the oil slicks left by the bikes ahead of you. :)

Alright all you Harley haters, I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

90% of all Harleys ever made are still on the road.

The rest actually made it home.

I don't hate Harleys, I'm just tired of giving their owners a ride home.

I don't "hate" them either. But I did own a 76 big twin and it was pretty much a nightmare. Solid lifters, sounded like a typewriter. Fouled plugs left and right. Made a crap load of noise and barely went the speed limit. (lmao)

At least I looked cool. B)

I don't actually hate them either. That's my only Harley joke and I get a lot of mileage out of it.... unlike the actual....

Actually they have gotten better---95% of all Harleys are now on the road--the other 5% made it to a shop somewhere.bj

It is not fair to make fun of a bike that was a hit due to a flaw !!! The dang things vibrate them selves apart. My hole piont is that me my step dad and brother built bikes this past winter they tied up twice what I did in my kz and both harleys have been in and out of the shop all summer.

DONT compare apples to oranges !!

Our bikes are faster and better built. Not bashing on harleys but you would think in the 100 years + they would have made there bikes more reliable.

One more thing my bike is an 84 kz 700 mostly stock
My step dads is a 47 ul hard tail, high compresion
and my lil bro has an 88 sportie 1000 chopper

Thoes japs had the right idea!! :woohoo:
