I hooked most everything up but have no power at all.....checked the red cable 12volts from the battery , the guy before me hooked the power thru some mickey mouse kill switch on the side of the fame is that necessary ? What sould be the first sign of life when you turn the ignition on ? Cause I am getting ZERO not grounded somewhere ?

The battery must have a cable from the Negative(-) terminal to (usually) a engine mounting bolt.

I'd check the glass tubed fuses and fuse clips for corrosion. Fuses can look good but have failed internally, check for tightness of the metal end caps.If the caps twist or come off, the fuse is no good. The fuse clips can be cleaned up with metal polish and a cotton swab.

Most auto parts stores can get you the AGX 10 and 20 amp fuses. The more common AGC fuse may not fit the clips.

Most bikes have the neutral light and front running light come on when the key is turned on.

A multimeter can help you find out where battery power is and isn't when troubleshooting.
