Gerex electronic ignition

Hi, I'm new to KZr. My friends call me Herman(long story).Any way I have a 1979 kz1000 LTD that I saved from the junk yard about two years ago and have been restoring. I also ride it most days when I'm not working on it. I'm trying to keep it period correct, I picked up a Gerex ignition but no instalation instuctions so I'm stuck. Can anybody help?

What kind of GEREX ignition do you have? It made two for the Z1s and KZs if I recall.

I'm not sure but the guy I got it from said he had it on a '77 kz1000

GEREX made a GEREX CDI System and a GEREX Convertible Ignition system, the latter was a points replacment ignition that used the stock or higher ohm coils and came with a small "black box". I had one of these GEREX Convertible ignitions.

The CDI system used very low-ohm coils and a big "black box" (approx 5" x 3" x 2.5"). My first GEREX CDI kit came with GEREX low-ohm coils. My second GEREX CDI kit came with Andrews low-ohm coils. I have the GEREX CDI instruction sheets.

Still looking for instruction for a stage 1

I have the CDI version on my supercharged bike and will pull those. It might help. May need 24 B4 I get them.
