Wiring Question

Trying to up date and replace some of the old wiring in my 78 kz1000 and get rid of my wiring demons. I dont know what this is and want to know if there is some type of new smaller more efficant peice I can replace it with? Any help or suggestions?

By this it looks like a set-rectifier.. whatever a set is.
