i recently picked up a 78 kz 600 i think gonna make a bobber but it had no key or ignition switch i hooked up batt but still no spark what wires do i need to use to hotwire coil please help

Hot wire from positive battery terminal to primary terminal on each coil should suffice.
Don't leave it hooked up like this except while cranking or running the engine. Because it's the same as leaving an ignition switch left ON all the time.
As known, simply assuring voltage to a coil doesn't guarantee spark at plug tips. But is one of the many requirements for spark.
