Need New Coils , Which to Get ?

My coils are shot , I need to buy new ones what would you guys buy and where from , they are for a 79 kz650b2. Thanks in advance , James

You looking for stock design or something like a dyna type?
What type of ignition are you running?

If you are still running points, then I believe you need 4 ohm coils, which dyna does not offer. Some people go with dyna's 3 ohm coils on their kz650 and dont seem to have any problems, but I decided to go with the cheap $30 4 ohm coils from Z1 Enterprises and haven't had any issues yet, nice big spark, no complaints.

Sorry should have said I am running a DYNA S ignition. And I would like to get something that can be put into the stock coil holders .

I'm not sure there are any low Ohm coils that fit into the stock holders.

The dyna green will fit the holders on your 650 and will compliment your dyna s. Just did my 650 a few months ago

Second the dyna coils. Fit right in, never had a problem. 3 or 5 ohm (and anything in between) will both work fine with a Dyna S system.

If you are coming from OEM coils and you go with the Dyna Green coils like I did, then you are going from an output spec of about 12 KV to about 32 KV to the plugs. IMHO, You WILL feel the difference in performance for starting, for idling and for cruising... at least that's what felt.

Which greens on the Dyna site ? There are two different that say green? two outputs or one ?

You want two "dual" output coils, not the single output

If your bike is a 4 cylinder, you will need the dual output coils, a twin will need only the single output coils.

On the Kawasaki KZ twins, you need one dual-output coil.
