Sure would help to know what bike ya got

Most of them have two lamps in them, you will have to pull the tach from the mount then you will see the wires leading to the tach. Be careful the rubber is old and will rip when trying to get the wires out

On some Kawasaki's you'll have to lower the headlight housing to gain access to the screws holding the instrument "dash" together.

On my 82 GPz1100 B2 the light bulbs are #168 wedge base type. Others may be the older bayonet type(push and turn).

Avoid replacing the exisiting bulb with something brighter as the increased wattage/heat may damage the instruments.
