Poor running Z1B
02 Jun 2010 19:45
Hi all,
I have a '75 Z1-B, with a "Dyna S" ignition installed, (stock coils). Starts/idles fine, but is down on power; acting as if timing is not advancing. Just did a valve & ring job,cam timing is spot-on, carbs are clean & synced. When Dyna S was installed, timing was set with timing light.
Took for 50-mile road test, and as noted, is down on power; just doesn't have the "snap" that should be there. Did not exceed 5K rpm )or so) for break-in purposes. Airbox is stock, as are mufflers. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I cleaned and lightly lubed the advance when Dyna-S was installed, but will check it again. Thanks!

Would assure all four cylinders are combusting by spraying water mist over exhaust headers while engine idles, to see if water instantly vaporizes off every header.
