Does anyone know where I can get a Canadian Speedometer to fit my bike(77 Kz650B1), or even one in mph that shows kph as well?

77,

Are you rebuilding? My stock speedo on an 82 kz1000 has both kph and mph on it. I really can't help you on this one, but replied because I love your tag line at the end of your specs:woohoo:

77, not that this may help, but you might consider doing something like this. There have been some posts recently about white faced speedo gauges and the process of taking the gauges apart and applying your own speedo template. I did something similar, only I used reverse engraved plastic and supplied my own graphic file of the speedometer. You can see it here: skippr76kz.home.mchsi.com/after/DCFC0001.JPG.html That was going to an extreme, but it is backlit. You could do something similar with KPH on regular vinyl or even paper has been used. It's a lot easier to just buy a unit, but it's another option.

Google Canadian bike wreckers/salvage. One of them should have a speedo. They all ship UPS. Expect to pay 50% of OEM though.

I've got one from my '79 650 that I could sell. It shows approx 65000 km on the odometer. If your interested, I could take a better look at it and post pix.

rstnick, I'm not really concerned what it looks like, does it work ok? We could tack it on to my order :P.

And guys I mean seals as in animals, not people. Its just a thing to show my support of the seal hunt, no matter what old washed up Beatles or Pam Anderson might say.

Sorry i don't get on the KZR much...but we restore all Z1..KZ 650...KZ900...KZ1000..And Z1R Gauges for the last five years now.

You send in your gauge...and if the faceplate is restorable...it's $85.00 ea. to restore the whole gauge. Restoration includes new paint..top and bottom...new glass...faceplate and needle resto...and calibration.

If your gauge is beyond restoration...we can build from scratch any Z1..KZ...or Z1R gauge. Prices vary on new restored gauges....but the particular one you need is $159.00. {77 kz650}

All of our new gauges and restoration parts are OEM. WE NEVER USE replica parts.

Please contact by e-mail 76kz900@bellsouth.net
or do a google search for Z-Resto...and view the whole restoration process.

Thanks
Bob

Hey 77,

don't know if I can help much on the speedo thing, but they have some huge bike junk yards out this way in alberta, so anytime you're looking for something, maybe I can help you out? I'm from the "rock" as well!
