Off-road style driving light on my KZ1100?

I am rebuilding a 81 KZ1100 with new fatbob tanks, new seat, new rear fender and other goodies. I want to mount a off-road style driving light on front, like 135 W bulb. The alternator is rated at 20 watts @ 8000 RPM. I will have no other accessories except maybe some led turn signals and the stock ignition for now. Can I get away with it? Also, where can I find the unit that makes the headlight flash like a strobe light. I have read in the past that the frequency of the flashing light is a frequency that the human brain cant ignore. I am just looking for ways to stay alive.
1982 KZ1100, Sat for 14 years wasting away! Going to rebuild as a super clean Bobber. I figured I need a motorcycle, since I could not fit another car into the garage.

You can get the strobes from JCwhitney. 135 watt light is sure to cause you grief. LED's might not tax the system as much but I dont know for sure

As far as an Headlight Modulator goes, I've bought mine from this place: comagination.com/

They have plug and play kits that comply with Federal Regs and need little or no wiring. Then just mount the sensor to your handlebar and your done. I've installed these modulators on three of my bikes and I love them. :)

I also keep a copy of the Federal Regulations with my bike papers just in case I get stopped, which to date hasn't happened yet. B)

I think you meant 200W, but it won't have enough poop to run that monster light, the ignition, turn signals, instrument lamps, horn etc.

BTW: I think using the daytime "flasher" also increases current demand because the headlight low beam runs steady on and the flasher pulses the high beam filament in addition to it.

Another thing to consider is a 135W light is illegal for street and might be bright enough to get you written up.

Not sure where you are located, but PA motorcycle inspection requires a high and low beam. I converted a Hella 4000 to an H4 but it was tricky...

If you get an H4 lens you can put in a 100/55w Hella bulb. Strickly speaking this is for off road use only, but the 55w low beam won't attract much attention. I used bulbs with this rating for years when I lived out in the country and I can tell you that you don't need more than 100w unless you're landing a jet aircraft in heavy fog. Flipping on the high beam was like turning on the sun! Don't use the high beam when there are cars around or you will blind them. You may want to install a relay for the high beam so you don't overtax your switches. I did not do this, but I may have just been lucky not to create problems. Ed
