79 kz650 - electric starter plug? was created by Beard
Has anyone removed a electric starter from a kz650?
If so any links or ideas on a plug for the hole where the starter came out?

Measure the exact size you need then get one of these that fits. My friend has been using these for years to plug the starter hole. But he doesn't use the sheet metal starter cover. You could probably rig a way to attach the cover.

You can get things like this at pretty much any parts store and there are many sizes.

A freeze plug should fit. Most good auto parts stores carry a wide selection of diameters.

I'd get a round piece of wood that fits the plug and drive it in carefully.

the kz400S had no electric start and had a plug in the hole. it looks like any old freeze plug. i'd think if you go to an auto parts store that has a good Dorman selection you could find one that would work.
