Quick Q - What is this switch?

Alright, I've flipped it back and forth, running, signals, brights, in gear... and as far as i can tell it does nothing.

This is a 1982 750 Spectre, stock as far as I know.

Oh, my first post. Hi all, and thanks.

STOP!.

Put away the bike.

Pick up the manual.

Yes, its supposed to be a hazard switch that blinks all the signal indicators at once.

Under the seat, close to the battery, should be two small silver cans(flasher relays) one controls the turn signals, the other the 4 way hazard lights.

I'd suggest replacing both as they may be worn out/failed.
Most auto parts stores sell them, some with three prongs, others with two prongs(electrical connections).

I believe your's are the two prong variety and should cost about $3.00 each.

If your turn signals are working, you can try swapping the cans to see if the hazards work. They are both the same type. If that desn't work you may have wiring problems.

I'd say open up the left hanblebar switch pod and see if the hazard switch contacts are clean and no broken wires.
