I want to eliminate all wires that arent needed. I know its like 4 wires is all that is needed but I don't know what 4. I could wire it to run but I dont know how I would wire in the charging system. I do plan to do turn signals after I do the basic wiring. please and thanks.

The charging system has three(3) yellow wires coming from the alternator. They go to an electrical connector that mates with the one from the regulator/rectifier.

The connector has six wires, all needed to run the bike's electrical system:

1.A small BROWN wire(1), the sense circuit, without it the regulator can over charge the battery.

2.The three YELLOW wires(3),mentioned before, one for each phase of the alternator.

3.A BLACK with YELLOW stripe wire(1), part of the ground circuit.

4.A WHITE with RED stripe wire(1), goes to the battery and provides the electrical system for the bike.

If you want to remove the electrical starting system you can, providing the kick start system works.

This would remove the starter motor, solenoid, and related wiring.

Under the engine sprocket cover you will find the routing for the alternator wires(the yellow ones) along with the neutral switch and the oil pressure switch wiring.

Go to the last page of the Mattylight thread in my signature. Just leave off whatever you don't need for the lighting and accessories.

If you don't want a starter, just connect the battery + to the fuse 1, fuse 2 junction.

I saw somewhere that with the aftermarket 5 wire regulator/rectifiers that the sense wire is not connected. Anyone know about this?

The 5 wire reg-recs have the voltage sensing built into the circuitry, so the brown sensor wire isn't needed. You can leave the brown wire from the harness routed to the connector. When you plug in the new voltage regulator, just make sure the correct wires mate with each other. The empty position in the new 6-pin connector of the 5-wire r/r would line up with the brown wire in the harness connector. keep in mind that the brown wire is hot when the ignition switch is ON.
