12-BS AGM battery was created by riverroad
I bought one for my little CB350 I bought last year to teach my wife how to ride. The price of this battery was comparatively high compared to a regular lead acid battery. I thought it would last a while.
So yesterday, I turned the key on and got nothing. Tried to hook up my charger, but it clicks out a "fault" signal.
Well the regular battery in my KZ has lasted for over two years and hasn't missed a lick. And I bought this AGM battery last year. Stored in the same garage as the CB350, at the same ambient temperatures.
I'm thinking maybe I'm doing something wrong? Or these AGM batteries ain't what they claim them to be.
What's the deal? Anybody know?

What brand of battery did you get? Did you buy it online, or from a dealer? Any warranty offered?

I've seen some cheap no-name AGM batteries advertised online. You mentioned that yours was expensive, so does that mean you got a known brand?

the same thing happened to the one in my dragbike when i tried to fire it up i had virtually no voltage not enough to even trigger my whizzy high tech charger so what i did was hook up a manual 1 amp charger over night and then hooked my fancy jobbie up to it and now it has charged up fine. we use these in our course for booster batteries and we have noticed that with a maintenece charge intstalled on them they really seem to lose a lot of voltage over the course of a month or two. it going to be a comprimise with this new mess free technology for a while i'm afraid. try what i did and it probably come back to life and buy your self a battery tender type charger and leave it on it from now on when your not actually using it.

I didn't write down the brand of it this morning, just glanced at the number. I bought it at a Farm and Home store, but looking at it, it doesn't have the normal warrantee punch outs that other batteries do. No telling what I did with the receipt. I was just wondering if anybody would know why it faulted out on me. It cost twice as much as the other batteries.

AHA! Thanks for that Timebomb. I was wondering if a regular trickle charger would kick it in for me. Gonna pick one up today.
