if you have a repair manual then go to the wiring diagram and chase the connections from the ignition plate to your coils then you can figure it out from there.

if you have a repair manual then go to the wiring diagram and chase the connections from the ignition plate to your coils then you can figure it out from there.the coil on the right will be 2&3 the coil on the left will be1&4. no 1 cylinder is the first one on the left.

As you sit on the seat, the sparkplugs are numbered left to right, 1-2-3-4, The LEFT ignition coil sparkplug wire go to #1 and #4. The RIGHT ignition coil sparkplug wires go to #2 and #3.
The ignition coil have dual ports wired together, so it really makes no difference on which port goes to what plug, so it's not hard to do.
As for the ignition point wiring, consult a shop manual with a wiring diagram.

If you did not remove the wires from the coils, and you did not remove the coils from the bike, it would be quite difficult to put the plug caps to the wrong plug. There is a very large difference in wire length. If by some chance you mixed up 1 with 4 or 2 with 3 which MIGHT be possible, it would not make a difference because those fire at the same time anyway. Now, if you removed the coils from the bike than you might have a problem.
The bike in this picture started out life as a 1981 CSR (M) you can follow the build in this link. The wiring harness in this bike is the same as in yours, plus the changes that I made for the front instrument section. In this picture the engine and ignition were still stock CSR components with the exception of the "Dyna" 2.2 Ohm (gray) coils. Which would not be a bad idea for you to get. They are not that offal bad in price new, but I bought mine used on eBay for about $45 for the two.

Measure the voltage going into the coils while the bike is running. If you have anything over 12V than you have a stock spark. The only time I have seen coils be bad is if they're cracked. If the voltage going to the coils is below 12V than clean all electrical connectors in the ignition system.
