Definitely not a stock plate, never seen one like that before - no clue what the blue things are, but they could be condensers of some sort. As Lou said the blue/red wire is coming from the oil pressure switch and goes to the warning light in the dash, it has nothing to do with the points or coils, it just runs along the points wires - all three wires connect to the main harness right around the rear brake light switch.

As for tracing the wires, the wire from the left set of points (green in your case) goes to the 1/4 coil, the other to the 2/3 coil. As you can see in the pic of a stock plate below they might have been reversed, but as long as they connect to the correct coil, the colors donĀ“t matter.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the blue items contain the capacitors. Capacitors don't have to look like the round metal cans. Moreover newer technology can allow them to be made much smaller.

That is right loudhvx, the blue chips shown in the photo are the caps.
