Switch, outage indicator

Rebuilding my Kz1000 found the outage indicator switch attached to the coils, looks like it may not have been connected and looks bad (cover with engine gunk and all) don't know if it works. Apparently not available anymore part # SKU28019-001????
How important is this thing?
Anybody know where to get a replacement?
Thanks

Without knowing your exact year and model.. E, G etc...
Hard to say but I believe your speaking of the Brake Light Failure Indicator switch....

Has 3 conductors to a connector: yellow, green & black?

If the above holds true, all this device does is sense when the brake light bulb goes out and turns on the instrument cluster lamp indicating so... In which case, nice to have sure but the bike should be able to run with out it connected.

As for where to possibly find a new replacement, unknown....

Hope this helps...
