KZ900 Key. was created by kbmotocross505
Hello again, today i just recently spoke to my father about the KZ. I asked him if he still got the key for it. His response? He said he lost it. Well this puts me in a fine pickle for trying to get my KZ running. What should I do? And where can i get a Key for my Z? As you guys know, a key is essential for getting my KZ to run...Reply ASAP if you can, I am getting my 32 year old Turbo Beast on sat.

Look at the 3 digit number on the seat lock.
Or unscrew the ignition switch, the 3 digit number is there on the side as well.
It is on the steering lock also.
Should be a 760 - 780 number.
Alawys thaught that was a bad idea. Go to the dealer and buy a key, then steal a bike.
Also the late Z1's, #751 - #755 keys interchanged.
Get the Number and ask someone on this site to send you a copy from the locksmith.
Or search ebay for the numbered key.
Good luck! Simple solution.

I can cut you a key if you have the 3 digit #.
Or a Locksmith in your area may be able to.
Send me a message if I can help.

If you can pull the tumbler mechanism out of the dash, all you need is a large flat blade screwdriver to turn the switch slot located at the bottom of the ignition lock recess.Lots of people lost Z/KZ's over the years to this early model feature, I was one...

I went to my local lock smith today to get a key cut for my 76 kz900. He has keys for virtually every bike or car you can imagine. He computer cut my key from the 3-digit key code. Works perfectly.

Located in New Westminster BC Canada (greater Vancouver area).
