Battery Tender Choices?

I have a Yuasa battery (new in early June). Has about 8000 miles on it. I have no reason to believe the charging system on my kz900 is faulty. After sitting for about a month, it lost cranking power while trying to start the bike. Haven't yet checked the charging system. I will do so some time soon.

Any way I will get a battery tender soon as well.

Any thots on which ones are better. I was thinking a Yuasa.

Spend whatever you have to to get the best "smart" charger. And don't make the mistake of leaving the charging leads on the battery if you sell the bike. Don't ask me how I know.

Hi Galactica,

This is the Battery Tender-Junior that I got from our friends at Z1 Enterprises. Works great for me.

You will want to get a hydrometer to test your acid ph. Charger won't fix a faulty battery.

Best of success. :)

Thanks for all the input guys. I've only seen the Yuasa and Battery minder Jr. around here. The Yuasa is only $4 more so I'll probably get that.

I use the Schumacher 1.6A maintainer battery charger. I own 4 of these and never had a problem. Over-winter storage and short-term parking, I just keep the charging leads connected to the battery terminals and plug 'em up to the charger when needed.

I use the one in the first picture. I got one for my cousins and parents as well since they are snowbirds here in Arizona and only in town about 4-6 months out of the year. They leave them hooked up to their car batteries for that amount of time without any problems.

Good luck.
