LED markers and brake light

When I put my new ducktail on my bike I want to eliminate the rear fender and use an LED brakelight. Is this just a matter of wiring the light in? LED turn markers need a modified flasher relay don't they?

Yup... LED sensing relay is the prefered method...

Don't fall for the added resistance route for your trying to decrease your loads and current demands not add to it...;)

I recommend the Luxeon 3W LED for the tail/brake light so it will be bright enough.

I bought my LED tail/brake light at a truck stop when they were on sale. 98 diodes. Straight wired to the stock system. Roy

I got my electronic flasher unit at AutoZone for about $3
it is called BLAZER 552/536LL It has now been on the bike for over two years working perfectly. Because my running lights and turn signals are also LED, I have one on the Emergency flasher circuit also.

thanks a lot, so is that flasher used instead of the old one, or is it wired some other way?

Just unplug the old one and plug in this one. It takes longer to get it out of the rubber mounting boot. :P

On some of the older Kawasaki's a four way flasher is used to flash the front and rear turn signals in a warning/hazard situation when a switch is thrown (usually on the left handlebar switch pod).

A regular turn signal flasher operates the front and rear turn signals,so there are two flasher cans in the electrical system.
