American Classix tail light was created by ckotul
Does anyone know anything about this tail light from www.americanclassix.com ? They're pretty vague on the details and they don't have any pics of the light installed. I'm looking to possibly use it on my 77 KZ650 (no rear fender). Thanks guys!

I used a tailight from a 2000 Honda Shadow when i took the fender off my kz1000 looks almost identical. I had to build my own bracket but it wasnt a big deal. I found mine on ebay for like 7.00 or 8.00

I'm wondering how well it would fit with the 650 tail, as it looks very round on the top edge and the 650 tail is somewhat flat.
The early z1 tails were rounder, and the 1000 are somewhat rounder too I believe.

I used a Kawasaki ZX6E tail light, bought off ebay, on my 650 as others have here as well. It fits the tail shape well, mounted up side down.
Brackets need to be made up, but I just used some flat brackets about an inch wide bent to shape.

ZX6 tail light too. It's like they were made for the 650's.

I have that taillight, adapted it with a bracket. It fits under the Z1 fender nice. I like the look. Only pic I have handy.

Nice! Thanks for all the info guys. I emailed American Classix and asked them if they could send me a photo of the light installed so I could get a better idea of the dimensions and such. Honestly, I didn't expect much. But, surprise! They sent me a pic of the light installed on a bike with a KZ650 tail section.

But... now that I know the ZX6 tail light fits so well, I'm gonna save a few bucks and get one of those instead. I found one off a 95 ZX6E on eBay for $15. Score!

Right, but the rep from American Classix told me that it's his bike and he has a KZ650 tail on it.

I thought it looked like a kz650 tail.
Nice fit.
