Hey guys I have put my KZ750 back together and was going to see if I could get bike to start. I have not been able to get a spark on any of the plugs.

I do not have keys (yet) so I have been jumping the solenoid off. My question is is there something else I need to do to get spark? Has anyone jumped solenoid and started bike?

I'm testing electrical today ;so I appreciate any help!

Thank You
Ray

 Is battery voltage reaching ignition coils?

Good Luck! :)

With out the ignition on jumping from the solenoid is like kick starting with the kill button in the off position. You can make a jumper wire at the plug where the key switch plugs in if you do not have a key

Thanks, that is what I was thinking. I did not know if ignition switch would control that but I was think it might. I will give it a try before testing coils, ignitor and other electrical componets.

Hey that worked great I had spark on three of the wires but one was not getting fire ;so I removed the boot and checked it. Come to find it was missing this little fuse looking connector ;so since it was not making contact no fire.

Do I need the fuse that's in the boot? I have made another out of some car wires/boot. This just to get it started I will get another wire ASAP.

Thank You
Ray

As mentioned..."jumping the solenoid " ain't worth a damn... Ok, so the starter motor rotates... but outside of that, not sure what this accomplishes.

The ignition switch is what passes the +12Vdc throughout the system especially passing desired voltages to the ignition coils and back to the battery for charging....

To check your coils/plug spark etc.... Jumper from the battery to the output side of the ignition switch then test for +12Vdc on primary coil windings...

If +12Vdc still missing, check the kill switch....

Let me see if I can find a schematic... What year & model is your KZ750?
