Disregaurd most of my last comment refering to the Key . I didnt see your missing the gas/seat locks. There again if I saw the bike in person MY stupid brain would click faster. I know of a local Parts Recyler here that should have what your looking for, He can send you a picture via email of exactly the part you will get and in working order, plus he may have matching gas and seat locks for your bike from one of the same YEAR/MAKE/MODEL even color which doesn't matter but I wanted to throw that in there.

He has helped me out dearly, Even sent me some parts for free before I could even say yes I buy them. The last parts I got are a set of points with back plate, oem wiring harness and cam lobe for the points for $10.00 and I paid using paypal.. For me its overnight shipping cause its only 125 miles from here. That included shipping cost. WOW what a deal. Hope it all helps. Good RIDING.

The switch for a B1 is 27005-083. Only used on:
1977 KZ650B1
1976-78 KZ750B1-B3
I'm sure there are aftermarket switches that claim they fit about any Kawasaki KZ of the era, but the part # between the models and years are not the same.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Ron, am I missing something? The Kawasaki.com parts diagrams show part #27005-083 also used on

KZ650-B2 (1978)
KZ650-B2A (1978)
KZ650-B3 (1979)
KZ750-B4 (1979)

I noticed Kawasaki.com is not all that reliable to find what models used what parts. We ran into this on the different speedos/tachs used between the 1977-78 KZ650s a while back. They list the same part being used both years. Same here. I've got the factory microfiche cards as well as the Kawasaki parts CD which is not as good as the fiche cards for identifying different parts for the years but still much better than the Kawasaki.com

The switch 27005-083 was on:
KZ650B1
KZ750B1, B2, B3

The switch 27005-5001 was on:
KZ650B2
KZ650C1, C2
KZ650D1

The switch 27005-5007 was on:
KZ650B3
KZ650C3
KZ650D2
KZ650E1
KZ650F1

The switch 27005-5006 was on:
KZ750B4

So they used 4 different switches between these models although Kawasaki does not really show it. The difference is quite significant. The KZ650 B1 only has a 4 wire switch where the B2 has 6 and the B3 has 7. Going to be hard for Kawsaki to tell me the same switch can be directly interchanged. :)

wow, thats surprising that the kawasaki website is wrong. Thanks for your help. I actually found the switch to a z750, so hopefully its the correct model that matches my bike.
