83 kz550m1, thought I could look on them n find out what ohm they were. I was wrong, only thing I could find was -ZC006-TR12v- any help would be great.

Most bike coils are rated between 2.2 and 3.0 OHMS. Anything less may have the coils overheating. Bikes have used 4 ohm coils, but the spark energy is reduced.
Kinda like a tightrope to walk between endurance for the long haul or really short lived performance.

Is it the stock ignition with igniter, and perhaps the stock ignition coils, or possibly replaced with a different ignition such as Dyna-S which doesn't use the igniter?
Many conversions to Dyna-S also use the 3 ohm Dyna green coils (the majority I believe ), but some may prefer the Dyna 4 ohm coils.
May use ohmmeter to measure resistence of a coil, by reading across the coil's primary winding terminals.
Good Luck!

Here's a link to a lower priced 4 ohm coil from Z1E.
Haven't tried them, but see favorable reports, and thinking some very knowledgeable folks prefer 4 ohm over 3 ohm ignition coils with Dyna-S ignition.
Click here >> Lower priced 4 ohm coil
Am well-satisfied with the green Dyna 3 ohm coils and Dyna-S ignitions. Could be wrong, but thinking Dyna recommends the green 3 ohm coils with the Dyna-S ignition, as opposed to the Dyna 4 ohm coil. Other members will likely have better information about this.

On a points ignition with no external ballast resitor, I would not go lower than four Ohm coil. With the kawi electronic igniter type ignition, they run lower resistance coils like about three ohms. With aftermarket like Dyna, I think they also wun lower resistance coils.
You can measure the coil resistance if you have a GOOD ohm meter with a low range like 200 Ohms or less, and you "zero out" the lead resistance to get an accurate reading.

If you will someday use a Dyna S, you should get 3 ohm coils. They should still work with your stock ignition (which used coils in the 2.4 to 2.6 ohm range).
