KZ1000 right hand control was created by markdavjones
Having been unable to locate a decent right hand control for my 1978 KZ1000 A2, I purchased a reproduction control right-hand switch for the Z1 models from 1974 and 1975
Code: RSP745 from american classics,

www.americanclassix.com/kawaElectrical.html

Though slightly different, it works perfectly. The picture shows how I wired it. Just an FYI in case anyone else is having this problem.

On my 78 the wires go internaly in the bars and has no slot for the wires to come through .Is it metal ? will they reach through the bars? Good Info to know. Thanks

I've been running aftermarket superbike bars for last 27 years, so my wiring is external to the bars. I don't remember if the wiring was internal originally or not but the wires should be plenty long enough either way.

Yes, the ones from Z1E are the same reproduction units I used. They seem to very good quality.

stock bars were internally wired but who kept the stock bars and the wiring is more than long enough unless your switching to ape hangers

This photo is very helpful to me, but does anyone know where the black wire is coming from on original harness that the black wire from new switch housing plugs into?
Thanks

If not already done, would take a look at wiring diagram under FILEBASE.

Good Fortune! :)
