Coils for 81 KZ750 LTD H2

I want to replace the Coils on the bike, Is it best to change the Coils and Stator? What should I get? Dyna?

with those yellow plug wires on it it looks like it has different coil's already why do you want to change them.

The coils on the bike now are old.

seem like it run's pretty good with those ones on it right now by the the bike looks great.

Thanks, The coils on it now are the origanal ones and the only thing left to do is replace the stator and coils, I would like all new Danas but I keep getting differant info on what to use. Dana 2000s or ?

If you really want to replace the alternator stator here are some websites to look at:

New coils can probably be bought at www.z1enterprises.com While your at, it order a new left side alternator gasket as the old ones usually tear on removing the cover.

What model would be the best to get form the Dyna coils that are avaliable?

I'd go to www.z1enterprises.com and ask there. Jeff Saunders(who owns Z1) is very knowledgeable about these older Kawasaki's.

My wife's old, but she says I can't change her..... seriously, old doesn't necessarily mean a coil is bad.

Z1 enterprises sells new OEM style Kawi coils for $36. They are the four Ohm coils most kawis with point ignitions use.

when you say stator do you mean the ignition plate or are you actually talking about the stator windings them self. if your asking about the ignition plate the dyna s is the one's i use on most of my bikes i also use dyna green 3 ohm coils plus because the ignition is so much better and the bike will rev to the moon i also like to wire in either a drl-200 or 300 rev limiter depending on what i have extra laying around. for stator windings i like to use them from rick's or electrix electronics most bike shops can get them for from various distributors i don't know if they will sell direct to the public.

The shop manual says the ohms should be 4-5 on the coils.
