Battery and or charging system was created by 2bskor
I have a problem with my battery going dead. I left my ignition on and drained the battery dead. I recharged it and it read good on my battery diagnostics tester.

The bike is out of tune and carbons up plugs in a few weeks to the point the bike has to roll over multiple time to get started, hence putting strain on the battery.

If it starts it will usually get me to work on my 3km commute but it will not start again. So I recharge the battery and it says it is still a good battery and over a couple of days it goes low again.

I put new plugs in so now it starts very easily so with a full charged battery I will see how long it lasts.

Is there a way to check the output of the charging system?

The factory shop manual describes the testing procedure pretty clearly, and it has been discused on tne board before. Try the search function.
If the battery is three or more years old, it is probably toast. Weak spark may be an indicator of a weak battery or poor connections to the coils. The WG coil mod may help.
Good luck.

I had a similar problem at the beginning of this summer. Get your bike running, hook your multimeter up to your battery. At Idle you should be getting around 12V DC, then turn the throttle to about 4000 rpm and you should get 14.6 or so volts. My stator was toast so I was having to recharge after every 30 minute ride. Now that I put in a new stator I get just under 13V at idle and 14.6 or 14.8V all the way from 3000rpm to 7000 rpm. I got a stator from Z1E within a week and a half (I live in canada so thats good) and it only cost 120$ plus shipping.

If you have not already, consider doing the popular ignition bypass using a relay. www.wgcarbs.com lists parts and how to do it.

For troubleshooting a charging system,go to www.electrosport.com and use their guide. It will help eliminate weither it's the battery or charging system problems.
