"Multifire" performance ignition system

Anyone know anything about this system:unsure: ?

It is supposed to fit a kz1000, & z1 ??

Which GEREX Multifire ignition system? GEREX had at least two ignition systems that it sold in the 1970s/1980s.

I have used both and I still run its GEREX CDI system on my '78 KZ1000.

That's a GEREX CDI system. I ran one on my '73 Z1-900 for 27 years before it died. Since 1984, I've been running such a system but with Andrews coils (the GEREX CDI system came with Andrews coils later) on my '78 KZ1000/A2 since 1984.

Where did you get this particular system? What bike (s) is it for?

Found it on e-bay, won it for $28.50. Have not received it

yet, when I do, will post some info on what I find out bout

it. No info on what it came off of, nor, did the seller

have any paperwork on it.

If anyone out there has any info. on this setup, I would

REALLY appreciate it !!!!

I have GEREX CDI documentation which I can provide you with if you like.

I knew the maker of GEREX ignitions back in the 1970s/80s. I used to visit his shop in Torrance, CA back then from time to time. This CDI unit was made to work on a number models, not just Kawasaki Z1s/KZs.

MSD makes a similar system for bikes (that's why it's called Multi-Spark Discharge). I'm not sure of the price.

Hopefully I will receive the Gerex parts today, they were in

Pa., yesterday at some postal center.

Anyway, this is My 1st Kaw., a 1989 KS1000P that I p/u for

$450 locally. Was not charging, so, also have a stator coming

by snailmail.

Have alot of work in front of Me to get it street ready, no

lights other than headlight, & taillight. LOL

Anyway, dont wanna use up sites space, so, I again thankyou

for the reply, & await Your em bout da docs..
