IF the diameter is exactly the same, and IF the thickness is exactly the same, and IF the mounting flange and holes are exactly the same, then it MIGHT work. The rubber plug will need to be changed and the plug for the wiring will need to be changed. Also, these early R6 stators seem to have a reputation for failure, which my explain why Yamaha redesigned them in 2003 and again in 2006.

Why not just use the proper one and be done with it? New and used ones are readily available from Kawasaki, aftermarket companies and elsewhere.

www.electrosport.com would be my first choice for a replacement stator. Their's are overwound to produce charging current at lower rpm's than the stock ones.

A list of stator and regulator/rectifier suppliers:

not that I know of.

Thx for them ebay, kinda short on moola right now.

Going to meet someone tonight that has the R6 stator.

He wants $30 for it, his scoot is trashed.

R6 stator for his scoot is 106mm, mine miced out at 107.

At electrosport they show same ohms for the three

combinations. But the R6 in the bike bandit page shows

that there are only 4 coils on it, & mine has 18 sooooooooo,

guess for $30 its worth a shot, just dont want to fry my

rec/reg..

Do You think I should connect load resisters on the three

output wires, to stop a over current condition ?

thx for your replys.

Just tried to match up a R6, no dice, inside diameter to

big,& bolt holes do not line up.

Oh well, fer $30, it was worth a shot.

Hmmm, wonder if "Permabond" would hold it in place

at 10 k RPM,

TC All, & keep da back rubber down !!
