how to get the best spark for a 81 kz1100

Hi i bought a 81 kz1100 shaft drive two days ago for $400 after replacing a melted earth cable and replacing the oils and filter had it running and idolling beautifully last night. It has a big hole in the balance pipe so that is my next item to do before rego. I reinstalled rear indicators apart from that hadnt touched the wiring yet for some reason appear to have lost spark. The wierd thing is is that all the diagnostic tests i can do seem to be showing up everything is ok ie rectifier/regulator and starter circuits and wiring, i have tried everything time and time again directly from the manual and am going nuts with what to do any help would be appreciated. I read somewhere there was a website that had step by step instructions on how to rewire these older bikes with a relay to help "bring back the spark" does anyone know about this all the other electrics work beautifully and are in great nick i just wish i could get these headaches sorted wich brings me to my last and probly most serious problem and that is the front brakes i tried all day to get dot 8 fluid but couldnt find it anywhere only to be told that dot4 is fine, i then flushed the brakes through and replaced the fluid yet for some reason cant seem to be able to bleed up a good solid lever it is only just and i mean only just grabbing the wheel and that is up on the stand so i would hate to try and stop 250kgs with these brakes. Any help on these issues or reccomendations on exhausts/ helpful websites is greatly appreciated.

Search the forum for a thread called Soft Front Brake. It has a discussion of air in the brakes. I'll bet there are other similar discussions as well.

Find out why you lost fire before doing the coil mod. Once you get that right then worry about the mod. Otherwise you could be in for a hair pulling expierence. Just my opinion.
