stator wire configuration?
11 Mar 2006 11:50
I am redoing the wiring from the plug to the stator/neutral switch/oil pressure switch because the insulation on all the wires was brittle and cracking. My problem is that I, stupidly, forgot to make a not of which stator coil wire goes to which (yellow, pink, lite blue) plug wire. Could some one tell me which is which on the pics.

If you are using a modern reg/rect combo unit, the order of the colors won't matter. If you are using the stock regulator, the color order may be very important.
Either way, it would be best to keep it in the same order as stock if you can. Sorry I don't know the order. The wiring diagram doesn't show it.
Next time you have the stator off and the camera handy, can you do me a big favor and snap a closeup photo of the rotor (sort of a general angle from above, not straight on.)? I'd like to see what the magnets look like and how many there are. Your camera seems to take pretty good photos.

I'll post a pic before I put it back together. Until I get this question answered I am stuck.

Well, I had to bribe stator sellers on ebay to finally get the answer. In case anyone else ever needs the info; pink=lone wire, sky blue=non-insulated of two twisted together, yellow=insulated of two twisted together.
and here are the rotor pics I promised

Didn't end up costing anything. Someone felt sorry for me and sent the info without the $$.
