im no good at drawing things on a computer but if you can get your hands on a shop manual for a kz1000 there should be a mkII wiring diagragm im the back to show the charging system wiring, the rest of it is basically power and ground wires for whatever you add B)

Still recovering, some days are better than others.

Just extend (longer Battery + (RED) & -(Black) wiring the original connections... Use at least 6-8awg conductor size, preferably 4awg for charging current.

In other words, if you only moved the battery then all that truly changed was the battery terminations...

The diagram helps But I need one for a 1979 MKII motor, What I did was remove the complete harness It was butchered up pretty bad Then I removed the battery box and built one on the swing arm, I also built a aluminum plate and mounted it where the inner fender was so I could mount my electrical doodads B) If anyone is good at pc drawing I would be very thankful to just have what I mentioned at the beginning of the thread. Thanks PLUMMEN and Dave you too :)

Ah, I see....

Same time, I wouldn't think there's really that much of a difference for the motor actually has few electrical connections other than dyno/stator, starter motor, ignition plate, oil pressure sending and ground.

Maybe I missed one or so little terminations but that's really about it that are actually connected to the motor itself...

Unfortunately, I don't have the MKII wiring schematic sorry... I'll see if I can hunt one down for you and I'll post accordingly.

EDIT: Just remembered Tony (moderator) has that same bike... PM and I bet he'll have the wiring diagram for you...

If you check the filebase on this site you'll find a wiring diagram for a KZ1000A4...it is from the Kawasaki shop manual that covers the MKII motors (1979 and 1980). In that manual, there is not a wiring diagram for the 1979A3 or A3A but there is one for the 1980 A4 model. This suggests that Kawasaki supplied the A4 diagram to cover both years of the MKII production...so if you trust this line of reasoning, you already have access to the MKII diagram... :)
