Ignition problem was created by Davestradamus
I finally got my 77 kz650b on the road I have put close to 500 miles on it without any issues.
Here's the problem:
Last night it rained on the bike while I was working. After, I noticed the headlight wasn't working either. I rode it home and it was fine aside from the headlight. This morning I decided to get a bulb for the light to see if it would help. About 10 miles into the journey the engine died. I pulled the clutch and hit the starter but nothing happened. The key does nothing. No lights on the dash or running lights. I have a dyna electronic ignition so I can't kick her either. Help!
Where do I start? I have a diagram. Multimeter?
Thanks!
David

Check your fuse box for a blown fuse. Then you need to track down the short. I would start with the wires in the headlight first to make sure wires aren't scraped or nicked

Battery to fuse to ignition switch. Switch output to the rest of the electronics....
Simple visual of the fuses/DVM voltage measurements will tell all.... Based on your depiction of event / occurrence, Kawickrice hit it on the nose, blown fuse would be my guess as well.
Most likely since you mentioned rained, water leakage to +12Vdc equates to fuse blowing....
