Replacement Points

Can you still buy an ignition kit for a 1982 KZ1100? I am just tying to see if it will run before spending a lot of money. I will try starting with the old points, but it was pretty corroded under the side cover. If it becomes a problem I would buy some new ones. I have looked on a bunch of sites with no luck.

1979 was the last yr Kawasaki used points ignition on any of the big bikes, so no telling what you've got there. Not the original electronic ignition so you won't find points for a 1982.

Have you checked for spark? You posted some pice of the bike in another post. Take a bunch of pictures and post them you will be amazed how much help you will get on this site. All they ask for is pictures in trade for knowledge don't be stingy...Russ
