Another Problem...YAY! was created by Darkangel
ok...So I am out riding and all of a sudden I turn the corner...the bike is running lean anyway, and she stops....I mean flat out stops on me. One of my friends gives me a jumb with his car, and i am on my way back home. When i get there she is dead again... The starter sound horrible like it's a dead battery, I have got a new stator on the engine...i check the volts on the bat and it's 10Volts...ok enough to at least start the bike right....NO! i dont know what the heck is going on...Before my bike was starting up with no issues after the new stator, and since i removed my speedo and tach, my batt doesn't seem to want to hold a charge.

Would assure good ground connection where negative battery cable attaches to engine.

Assure battery fluid levels are correct.

Charge battery overnight, input 2 amps or less.

Start engine. Test charging system by measuring voltage across battery terminals. Look for 12+ volts at idle and 14+ volts at 3000-4000 rpm.

Faulty regulator may cause overcharging and loss of battery fluid.

Faulty rectifier may prevent charging. Faulty alternator (aka stator aka generator) may also prevent charging.

Loose connectors into or from a component may prevent the component from working properly. Such as in wiring between alternator and rectifier, etc.

Good Luck! :)

your ignition system probably wont even fire properly with that low of volts you let alone crank the starter over properly sounds to me like you still have a charging problem to deal with.
